About The College

Rooted in Tradition, Growing Toward the Future

Twenty-seven years of uninterrupted commitment to authentic Ayurvedic medical education, clinical service and community wellness.

Our Story

Institutional Overview & History

Anant Group of Ayurveda College was established in 1999 by a trust of practicing Vaidyas and public health educators who believed Ayurveda deserved the same academic rigor, infrastructure and clinical exposure as any modern medical discipline.

What began as a single-block college with 60 BAMS seats has grown into a full campus housing lecture theatres, a dissection hall, pharmacognosy museum, Rasa Shastra pharmaceutical laboratory, an working herbal garden, hostels, and the flagship 300-bed teaching hospital that now serves thousands of patients from surrounding districts every year.

Recognised by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and approved under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the college remains affiliated to the respective State Ayurveda University for degree conferment and examinations.

Guiding Principles

Vision, Mission & Core Values

Our Vision

To be a nationally recognised centre of excellence that advances Ayurveda as an evidence-informed, clinically credible primary healthcare system.

Our Mission

To train competent, ethical Ayurvedic physicians through classical textual scholarship, rigorous clinical training and continuous research in Dravyaguna and Rasa Shastra.

Our Values

Guruship, Ahimsa in practice, Swasthavritta (preventive living), academic integrity and service (Seva) to every patient regardless of background.

Educational Philosophy

The BAMS Philosophy at Anant Ayurveda

We treat the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery not as a parallel-medicine credential, but as a complete clinical science rooted in the Ashtanga Ayurveda — the eight classical branches: Kayachikitsa (internal medicine), Shalya Tantra (surgery), Shalakya Tantra (ENT & ophthalmology), Kaumarbhritya (pediatrics), Bhuta Vidya (psychiatry), Agad Tantra (toxicology), Rasayana (rejuvenation) and Vajikarana (reproductive health).

Every student studies the foundational Samhitas — Charaka, Sushruta and Ashtanga Hridaya — in parallel with modern anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology, so graduates can diagnose using both Tridosha theory and contemporary clinical investigation.

  • Integrated Sanskrit + clinical pedagogy from Year One
  • Patient-facing OPD exposure beginning Second Professional Year
  • Mandatory Panchakarma procedural certification before internship

The Anant Herbal Garden

Spread across several acres of the campus, the Herbal Garden is a living extension of the Dravyaguna classroom. It is organised into thematic beds — Rasayana Vatika, Twak Roga Vatika (skin-care herbs), Vishagna Vatika (anti-toxic plants) and a dedicated Nakshatra Vana planted according to classical astro-botanical tradition.

Students complete practical pharmacognosy rotations here, learning to identify plants by Rasa (taste), Guna (qualities), Virya (potency) and Vipaka (post-digestive effect) — the classical pharmacological parameters that inform every Ayurvedic prescription.

Practical Training

Weekly identification walks, herbarium preparation and raw-drug authentication.

Pharmacy Supply

Select cultivated herbs are processed in-house at the Rasa Shastra pharmacy.
